Spaced Learning (“we”, “our”, “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have.
The app is designed to store your study data safely and give you full control over it at any time.
By using the Spaced Learning app or website, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
2. Data We Collect
2.1 Information you provide
- Name — optional, used only to personalise your experience.
- Email — optional, used only for account identification if you choose to add it.
- Flashcards, topics, and content you write — stored on your device and synced through iCloud if enabled.
- Review activity (answers, timestamps, scoring, learning-model data) — used only to calculate personalised review schedules.
2.2 Automatically collected data (opt-in only)
- Analytics — usage statistics, non-identifying performance data.
- Telemetry (crash logs & performance) — helps improve stability.
We do not collect your card content or personal notes for analytics.
3. Permissions and Device Access
The app may request access to certain system features, strictly for functionality:
- Microphone — only for dictating answers.
- Camera & Photo Library — only for adding images to cards.
- Speech Recognition — only for converting spoken answers to text.
- Notifications — only to remind you of due reviews.
All permissions are optional.
We never use these permissions for any other purpose.
4. How Your Data Is Stored
4.1 Local storage
All cards, topics, and history are stored securely on your device using Apple’s Core Data framework.
4.2 iCloud sync
If you enable iCloud Sync, your data is stored in your private iCloud database.
Only you (via your Apple ID) can access it.
Erin Consulting has no access to your iCloud data.
5. How We Use Your Data
We use your data only to:
- provide spaced-repetition scheduling
- save cards and learning history
- calculate insights and statistics
- enable premium features
- send optional reminders
We do not sell, rent, or share your data.
6. Third-Party Services
The app may use:
- Apple iCloud — for syncing if enabled
- Apple App Store / StoreKit — purchases and subscriptions
- Apple crash reporting — optional
- ChatGPT (OpenAI) — only when you select ChatGPT as the evaluation engine
When ChatGPT is used:
- your answer and the expected answer are sent to OpenAI
- nothing else is transmitted
- you may switch to Apple AI, which evaluates answers locally
7. Your Rights
7.1 Export
You can export all your data from the app’s Settings.
7.2 Delete
You can delete all app data at any time from Settings.
7.3 Permissions
All permissions can be controlled in the iOS Settings app.
8. Children’s Privacy
The app is not intended for children under 13.
We do not knowingly collect information from children.
9. Security
We rely on Apple’s secure frameworks for local storage, encryption, and iCloud protection.
No data is stored on third-party servers unless you explicitly use ChatGPT evaluation.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves.
Updates will be posted on this website and referenced in-app.
